I'm not a planner but am quickly turning in to an honorary 'planorak'.  I am, therefore, as interested as most people in the sector to understand the potential impact of the Government's planning white paper, 'Planning for the future', launched on 6th August.  Here's a quick summary of what the white paper seems to be aiming to achieve and some initial reactions I've picked up in a series of webinars and blogs since the launch. 

On Monday 18th May I attended the first virtual session of the Net Zero All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) Decarbonisation Inquiry: Generating Net Zero Energy - Power and Industry'.  

For the uninitiated, Earth Day is an annual event celebrated around the world on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First celebrated in 1970, it now includes events in more than 193 countries.

Following on from February’s #CountdowntoCOP conference with Michael Gove and Nicola Sturgeon, as featured here in a previous blog, Green Alliance today hosted an hour-long webinar with Chris Stark (Chief Executive for the Committee on Climate Change, CCC), Camilla Born (Deputy Strategy Director, COP26 unit, Cabinet Office) and Dr Thomas Hale (Associate Professor of Global Public Policy at the University of Oxford).

On Tuesday 11 Feb we attended a thought-provoking Green Alliance #CountdowntoCOP event. 

Opened by Michael Gove, closed by Nicola Sturgeon, with fascinating panel discussions in between.
